Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay and Pinot Noir are the main varietals. All our wines are made from painstakingly maintained, selectively hand picked, bunch pressed fruit. Once harvested, the fruit is then chilled in the winery to stabilise, pressed and then fermented. Our Chardonnay and Pinot Noir grapes are barrel aged using the best French Oak.

The European influence in hand-crafting our finished product permits our wines to be enjoyed for many years after production and, although enjoyable immediately, they are likely to improve in complexity as they age. As a result, we choose to delay the release of our hand-labelled bottles of wine to the market.

We acknowledge that great wines are firstly created in the vineyard and then finished and presented through the skills and experience of the winemaker, thus enabling the wines to reflect their true terroir.

Our Vineyard

Located at the foot of the Takaka Hill, Riwaka, in the Nelson region, we enjoy among the longest number of sunshine hours in New Zealand. Our soil is limestone and clay, free draining and perfect for growing grapes. Approximately 2.5 acres of land is given over to growing grapes, on 12 year old vines. We are sheltered from extreme winds and frosts by the surrounding hills. Since acquisition of the vineyard we have reduced the volume of grapes by approximately 35% with no reduction in the number of vines, placing a strong emphasis on vine condition. All with the aim of producing fantastic grapes.

Our Cellar Door

We also have a licensed cellar door for tastings and sales for those that wish to visit us in our beautiful setting.
